Rowerdennan is a lovely setting, right on the banks of the famous Loch Lomond. Relax and enjoy the magnificent views from the Hostel lounge. Laze on the beach, fish, or walk the West Highland Way, which passes close to the Hostel door. Nearby, you'll find Queen Elizabeth Forest Park and the National Nature Reserve. From Balmaha take a mail boat trip round the islands, or hire a boat. There is a ferry to Inverbeg, May to September. Ben Lomond 3,192ft, Scotland's most southerly Munro, is a fine walk hillwalk.

Inveraray Youth Hostel

Inveraray Youth Hostel is a small, friendly Youth Hostel providing budget accommodation with twin and quadruple private rooms as well as small multi-share rooms. A drying room, cycle shed and free car parking also available. The Youth Hostel lies in pleasantly landscaped gardens and has a number of picnic benches which can be used to enjoy a meal on a fine evening. Inveraray Youth Hostel is approximately 5 minutes  walk from the bus stop for buses to Glasgow, Oban and Campbeltown. Diagonally opposite the Youth Hostel is Inveraray Castle, the home of the Duke and Duchess of Argyll. Inveraray Jail is also a short stroll away, as are a variety of shops and amenities in the town centre. A host of walking tracks, including the Dun a Cuaiche and a number of Munroes and Corbetts are nearby too, most notably the iconic Cobbler (884m). From here you can head for the Mull of Kintyre, the Cowal peninsula or the islands of Islay, Jura, Gigha and Arran.
